St Peters CofE Primary

Sports Premium

At St. Peter’s C of E Primary School, we put a real emphasis on the inclusiveness, competitiveness and effectiveness of our P.E and sport teaching. We, as a school, work hard to ensure that the PE curriculum, teaching input and provision for clubs is consistently of a high standard and available to everyone. Through PE and sport, our vision is for children to develop our school values of friendship, bravery, service, forgiveness, thankfulness and resilience. At St. Peter’s we believe that every child deserves the right to feel confident and supported in their PE lessons and we work hard to ensure they are an inclusive, empowering learning environment where all achievements are actively celebrated. Supported by the sports premium funding, we are confident that the wealth and variety of opportunities that we offer our children, leave them with the desire and skill-set to continue to enjoy and thrive with physical activity into secondary school and beyond.

In June 2013, the Government announced new funding for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding has been allocated to all primary schools since 1st September 2013 and is used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision.

We have welcomed the commitment to improving the provision of PE and Sport in primary schools.  We are committed to using this funding to enhance our provision of high quality PE, both within and beyond the curriculum and to add to our existing resources.

The school has a clear PE and changing procedure which can be found here.
