St Peter's Church

St Peter’s Church is a very family friendly Church which backs onto the school. It also has a building with The Ark soft-play and café  (SPARC – St Peters Activity and Resource Centre) on the same campus which is popular among residents.

The Church is an Anglican church which is very well attended by all ages of people. It has a range of activities for children, including a well -established Sunday school. It holds a monthly café church, where they invite a particular year group from the school to attend and take part in a family friendly service around café tables with cake and coffee/ drinks available. ( The year group visit the church in the previous week for a special workshop and their work is presented during the café church service). The church also host a monthly Messy Church, on a Saturday morning, for young families to attend, who take part in all sorts of fun and crafty activities, and they have a meal together.

There are many joint activities that take place. The school use the church for special activities which have included Harvest, Christingle and Christmas Carol Concerts and Easter.

For the last few years, the church has produced both an Easter Extravaganza where the church was transformed into different interactive stations (including  a real fishing boat, tent -for the last supper and a resurrection tomb) and Easter in a box, which have been wonderfully interactive ways of presenting the Easter story to children.

The church team are well known to the school. Tim (Vicar) and Katie (Youth worker) take weekly collective worship at the school and have begun to host prayer hubs at the school where the whole community are invited to join.

If you were to attend the church, you would find yourself warmly welcomed by the team there.
